Expression of an Overcomers Heart

Expression of an Overcomer Heart

From My Heart

Sometimes, the worst abuse I face doesn’t come from others—it comes from within. After I sin, it’s like satan seizes the moment, whispering condemning lies in my mind:
“You’re no good.”
“No one wants you.”
“You’re worthless.”
“You’re unforgivable.”

I’ve believed those lies. I’ve stayed down, crushed under the weight of shame and self-hate. I’ve wallowed in self-pity, not even wanting to live anymore.

But then, in those darkest moments, the truth begins to break through. I start to remember how Jesus sees me—even after I sin. Slowly, I rise. I lift my head. And I begin to declare out loud:
“I am lovable. I am not guilty. I am adored. I am beautiful.”

These words don’t stay buried in the silence of my mind. I speak them so the devil hears them—and more importantly, so I hear them. Because truth spoken out loud has the power to silence lies. These declarations lift me out of the pit of depression. They keep me from slipping back in.

For Your Heart

I wrote this for everyone who has been used, abused, and broken down by words spoken by people. Maybe Satan used people to tell you:
“You’re nothing.”
“You’re ugly.”
“No one wants you.”
“You’re too far gone.”

If that’s you—this poem is your rallying cry. This is your stand against the voices that tried to destroy you. Imagine yourself planting your flag in the dirt, boldly declaring:
“I am a child of God. I am beautiful. I am lovable. I am forgiven.”

Let me encourage you—to start seeing yourself the way Jesus sees you. Speak it aloud. Let your ears hear the truth. Let the enemy tremble as you proclaim it boldly.

There’s something inside you that no one can steal. If you're getting back up—or if you've already gotten back up—then you are an overcomer.

Read this poem. Let it stir your spirit. Let it be your anthem as you rise again. You are not who the enemy says you are.
You are who Jesus says you are.

I Am Indestructible, why?

Call me ugly, call me trashy, say no one would want me.
Label me crummy, unworthy, unseemly.
Slinging your names stirs my doubts and threatens my identity.

But one truth stands: your words will not destroy me.
Why?
Because my God is for me, never against me, always with me.
He's made me indestructible, unbreakable, unstoppable.
Declared me excusable, forgivable, pardonable.
And to Him, I am lovable, treasurable, remarkable.

You can use me, manipulate me, and steal from me.
Pretend to love me, while your enmity is real.

Act as my ally, then secretly strike me down,
Then toss me aside like cold coffee on the ground.

But one truth stands: your actions will not destroy me.
Why?
Because my God is for me, never against me, always with me.
He's made me indestructible, unbreakable, unstoppable.
Declared me excusable, forgivable, pardonable.
And to Him, I am lovable, treasurable, remarkable.

Spread your rumors, talk badly, and try to turn the tide.
Push people to leave me, to reject me, to hide.
Inciting others to stand against me, side by side.

But one truth stands: their efforts will not destroy me.
Why?
Because my God is for me, never against me, always with me.
He's made me indestructible, unbreakable, unstoppable.
Declared me excusable, forgivable, pardonable.
And to Him, I am lovable, treasurable, remarkable.

When all is said and done, you'll find me still whole, still strong.
You'll wonder, you'll ponder, asking where you went wrong.
Why am I still existing, standing where I belong?

And though the answer might be hard for you to ingest:
It's because your worst is no match for God's best.
