Viewing Eachother As Rainbows

· Poems

In the beginning, our God created the universe and this tiny speck of blue called Earth.

God created humankind, male and female, in His very own image. Meaning we are not skin and bones. We are spirits that know no color.

Because of this, we are all made with the same stuff, which means no one is above or below the other. We are all equal.

Then, when we are born, our Creator encases our spirit with a tent of different colors.

Some have a shade of white, some a shade of brown, some a shade of black, some a shade of yellow, some a shade of red.

Just like when God first created the first man and the first woman and assigned their value as very good.

Every time God creates a person, He declares His creation to be very good, not just good but very good.

But wait, I hear people disagreeing with their Creator. Which is kinda funny. The creation disagrees with its Creator.

Some are saying that white is ugly and evil, while others are saying black is ugly and evil, brown is ugly and evil, yellow is ugly and evil and red is ugly and evil.

I find this very odd. Because we don't judge the rest of God's creation this harshly. The rest of God's creation that God declared to be just good.

A rainbow is a perfect example. When we see a rainbow we stop in our tracks or pull off onto the side of the road.

And we just look at it in wonder and amazement.

Why, what intrigues us so? Is it because we are viewing a single ray of light that also knows no color? No.

We stare at the multiple displays of colors and judge it as very good and very beautiful. While taking in the yellows, the violets, the blues, etc.

In all of my 53 years of existence, I've never heard anyone look at a rainbow and say I think the blue is ugly, I think the yellow is ugly, I think the violet is ugly? Have you?

Then why, when we view each other, shades of color

a creation that is not just good but very good, different from when we view a rainbow?

Oh, foolish humans. Thinking you have more authority than your Creator.

Thinking you can assign value to something you never created.

In your arrogance, you think you can call a color of someone's tent ugly or evil when their Creator already assigned them a value of very good.

So let's start looking at the human race as we look at a rainbow. Let's be amazed and wonder at the many different colors. The whites, the blacks, the browns, the yellows, and the reds.

And every time we look at a fellow human, let's not forget that we are not looking at something good, like a rainbow. Instead, we are looking at something very good.
